The Canon T-90 System |

Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

I have a T90 with the EEE problem, although it has been "fixed" (in US and UK) 3 times over 10 years. Problem seems related to power-winding; after the picture is taken, it flashes up, I press the battery check button, and it resets to the next frame.
The most recent attempt at repair replaced the PCB Flex. Does anyone have a solution/repairman. thanks in advance, im located in San Francisco.

I am looking to buy a Canon AE-1 Program because it is the least expensive Canon manual focus camera with interchangeable focusing screens. Do the focusing screens for the Canon T-90 also fit the AE-1 Prigram? If they fit, will the metering be affected in any way?

I got my T-90 from an add in the Thrifty Nickel, but I have also seen them in the news paper classified ads. I messed up and didn't pull the trigger on the first one I saw. The guy had 5 lenses and the T-90 in good shape for 300. SO when I saw an ad for a Divorce Sale "Get my stuff so the b**** can't have it" I ran right over and paid $200 for a very nice T-90. So my suggestion is to keep watching the papers.5. From : RegWheeler (RegWheeler@aol.com)

Hi All ! A little while ago I posted a plea as having got my beloved T90 out of my bag I found to my horror it was dead, completely dead, I tried everything including suggestions I received from fellow T90 users, all to no avail. My camera I might add had never been serviced (admittedly it has only had light use) or indeed given any problems since purchasing it new. I saw a posting on this site from John Lowe a camera technician specialising in T90’s, I contacted John at jillyandjohn@lineone.net and he felt he had an idea of what the problem could be and agreed to repair and service my camera if I sent it to him. WELL today it’s back working as sweet as ever, (problem was a leak from a battery causing corrosion) all I can say is Thank You, John
I am well pleased, so if any other fellow T90 users have problems I recommend you contact John if anyone can sort the problem out he can. Thank you all for your suggestions and kind wishes. Reg

Does anyone have any input on how one could acquire the "Interface" for the Canon T-90 Data Memory Back to download the information stored in the Data Back into a computer? This feature is mentioned with reference to the Data Back discussed in the accessory pages of the T-90 instruction manual, but it says the "Interface" accessory was not made available in North America. Has anyone had any experience with this? A picture of it is shown on this web site.8. From : Mickey Oberman (mickeyobe@internet.look.ca)

Peter, Once you do remove the battery holder check it and inside the battery compartment for corrosion from the batteries. That often causes sticking problems. If you do find battery corrosion, very carefully apply some vinegar to it with a wet but not dripping Q Tip. You may have to go to Starbucks for one of their very useful wooden coffee stir sticks to tie your Q Tip to in order to reach the back of the compartment. It may take a number of applications but it will eventually come clean.
Other than corrosion it might be that you are not turning the latch, WITHOU FORCING IT, all the way.9. From : Carlos O. (terriblsoft@technologist.com)

Thanks for the help about the T90 manual, but what I was looking for was the repair/service manual, not the user manual. I need to get my beloved camera back to live. thanks.10. Our store purchased a used T90 a few years from a customer recently. It appears to be a great camera, but the battery compartment sticks when we try to remove it. We're looking to resell the camera and would appreciate any insight on how to address this problem. Best wishes, Peter
