The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

Hi there, I am eagerly waiting to recieve a T90 I just ordered. It will replace my EF that I have used for 16 years. I really appreciate this web-site since it convinced me that T90 would be my next camera. So my questions are; does anyone out there use NiMh batteries in their T90? Can there be a problem using them? I tried searching thre postings and I saw nothing about this topic. Thanks, Randy

For less then $100.00 you can buy a model airplane remote control radio reciever and servo along with Nicad batteries that will work with excellent control to mechanically depress a switch button or a cable release. Go to one of the big on line hobby shops like http://towerhobbies.com/ go to there listings of radios and look for a 2 channel set these sell for much less then $100.00. If you have a hobby shop that caters to either model airplanes of remote control cars in your town try them. should be very easy to rig up a board that holds a cable release or switch button against the arm of a servo motor and by pressing the control stick you would then release the shutter move the stick back and do it again and it would fire again with a motor drive like one in a T90.

Has anyone built their own wireless remote release solution for a T90? I would like something with which I could fire my T90 from up to 200ft away (cable is not an option). Canon's solutions don't reach that far, and those that do seem very expensive ($500 or up). I have an old T3 remote release that I could chop up and use, but I would need the transmitter/receiver parts. I am no wizard with a soldering iron, but I could do some assembly. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Tim,
If West Virginia is close enough to North Carolina you might try
Morgantown Camera and Video Repair. www.mcvr.com

My T90 shutter is frozen from lack of use and I imagine it needs an internal battery as I have not used it for 4 -5 years. Anyone know of a reasonable repair shop anywhere near North Carolina? Please email. thanks

Steve - That's normal. It's the camera's way of letting you know what's remaining inside even when it's off, lacking the mechanical counter other cameras have.

Recently purchased a T90 after using A1's (I have three).Question is - after loading film and taking several exposures - after I turn the camera off, the exposure counter and film wind icon still remain visible in the LCD display. The remainder of the LCD is blank (which I expect). Is this normal? I know there is an extra battery to "remember" that info when the main batteries are changed but is it normal for that info to be continually displayed. The only T90 manual i haveis the one from this site. Any response appreciated.
