The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

The respective Message Boards are some of the HARDEST hit section of the PIM site, if at any one time, the traffic is high - the table/content may take a while to load the data, just be patience. Just a big thank you to everyone out there who suggested I track down/buy a dioptre eyecup, and pop the lens out, to replace the rubber eyecup I lost in Liverpool. I found one at Anglia Cameras in Ipswich (01473 258185) and another at David Leung in Ilford (0208 590 3268) – the first via the web and the second via the first. All I have to do now is make sure I don't lose either of them!

Gene, I suggest a modification to the instructions you found for tightening the lense mount on a T90. Just unscrew the 2 screws on the side about 2 turns, enough to raise the patch up and release the front cover, this saves you from the problem of losing the latch parts.

Thanks Don Clary. I want to use the 300tl and the canon T90, mostly in macro work with a 180mm Macro lens. I was thinking to use the canon 300tl with the off show camera flash adapter cable 2 (OCSC2), for which I found in http://www.kjsl.com/~dave/ocsc.html, that it allows full funcinality and compatibility with 300tl and T90! Thanks for the reply though!!!

Can anyone give me the name or email of a reputable T90 repairman in the US? My T90 has a mirror spring problem, and our local repairman says he can't fix it. Thanks.

Many thanks once again Don for your help. I am now off to play with the 300TL in FEL mode and I will use the spot meter button to activate this mode. Your help has been really useful, as I nearly ordrered a replacement 300TL yesterday but luckily did'nt get time to place the order!. I found an add in a UK magazine for a mint- condition one in a case for £99.00. This seems to be just under the going rate at the moment. Best Regards, Dave Thrower
