The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

The respective Message Boards are some of the HARDEST hit section of the PIM site, if at any one time, the traffic is high - the table/content may take a while to load the data, just be patience. If it stalls, just click on the 'Reload' or 'Refresh' button on your browser menu once to re-attempt. Thank you.

Is anyone here using a Sunpak Auto 555 with their T-90? If so, what module are you using? Thanks, Ken

You can find the manual you need for the 577G at Christians most excellent Canon FD info site at: http://www.canonfd.com/choose.htm It is I believe a PDF so you will need Adobe to read it but he has a free down load on the page or his home page if you need it. A most excellent flash I use one with my backyard birding set up a F-1N PK screen Sportsfinder FD-15 tube 2X-A doubler and 500mm f4.5L S.S.C makes those little American Goldfinches almost fill the frame fom 20ft. Using it as fill flash to put a tiny twikle in their eyes. Or to reach deep into the scrubby tree in the nieghbors back yard they as well other birds hang out in Mark W.

To: 8bit Barry Printing the time/date/frame number on the film is optional with the data memory back. The manual for the back was available a couple of days ago on www.canonfd.com. As of this writing the web server at that site appears to be down.

Nelson Do you have the battery number for the T-90? Energizer.com has a search by # and brand, they should/may still offer...

Nelson, "The T90 has a built-in back-up battery which memorizes the display panel data, such as the frame counter number and the ISO film speed, when the AA-size batteries are being changed. Battery life is about 5 years. When voltage becomes insufficient, "lSO 100" will blink (at 2 Hz) on the display panel after loading batteries for normal camera operations. If the back-up battery is removed, the memory will be erased. In this case, reset the film speed."

p.108, T-90 Owners Manual

My GUESS, based on the above is that the T-90 will keep working. TomR.

I just had my T90 repaired and asked the shop to replace the internal battery while they were in there. They told me that they couldn't because the batteries are no longer available. Does this seem right? Will the camera still work without the internal battery?
