The Canon T-90 System |
|
Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

ZZZT90ers: FYI - the 300TL manual on the Yahoo Groups site (at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CanonFD/files/%20Manuals/) is more than just the regular manual. It is "Canon's Reference Guide" by Canon USA's technical department. It is much more informative and detailed about flash techniques, use/control of available versus flash light, multiple modes available for the 300TL/T90 combo, and when to use them. The "Reference Guide" is much more helpful than the manual that comes with the 300TL.
As for the two sites, I think both this site and the Yahoo Groups site (i.e.: Parry Johnson's site) can co-exist.3. From : Paul H (isf@btinternet.com)

I have a T90 and when I switch it on the display panel shows a flashing bc. What does this mean and how do I get rid of this so I can start using the camera. I have new batteries.4. From : ZZZT90ers (zzzT90ers@nowhereEU.com)

T-90 reviews ? What can it be compared with all the technical postings here at this Board ?. If the crowd puller is the manual for the 300 TL ? John, It has already been here in this malaysian site all these while; t least I would appreciate you scan through the content here before you post because there is also a full manual for T90 ! Anyway, it is good to hear that's another T90 site somewhere else. Well, I hope this doesn't classified as "hostile" by the maintainers too...5. From : Ketil Johansen (ketiljo@stud.ntnu.no)

If you're looking for a user's review of the T90, you can find it at http://www.kjsl.com/canon-fd/cameras/t90.html If you need the Canon Speedlite 300TL, you can download it from Parry Johnson's web site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CanonFD/files/%20Manuals/300TL%20Reference%20Guide/ Unfortunately, it's organized as 28 separate .jpg files, but it's better than nothing. The information here is extremely valuable. Parry's site is very good. If, in the above URL, you delete everything after "Manuals/", you'll find a few other instruction manuals. Elsewhere on Parry's site, specifically at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CanonFD/files/ You'll find a folder named "Canon T90 Resources". It contains exploded views, parts lists and wiring diagrams for the T90 in a ZIP file that unzips into a 45-page TIF. Happy Downloading!7. From : Shelley (Fuzzsgirl@aol.com)

Please help! I have a T90 I bought in 1989. I noticed the winding becoming sluggish, so I changed all four of the AA batteries. Now nothing works. I can't get anything to show up on the display window and I can't operate anything on the camera. I have a roll of film inside I don't want ruined. Any ideas what I can do or what the problem may be? Any insight will be appreciated!8. From : Keith Magill (cmot@btinternet.com)

I have just been told by Lehmanns in Stoke on Trent that my beloved T90 needs a new shutter which is unavailable now.
I saw a T90 on Ebay.co.uk recently which had the shutter repaired recently.
PLEASE can anyone tell me of a good repair centre in the U.K. who could do this for me?
Thanks. cmot@btinternet.com

I am new here at this board, so I assume it has been newly re-designed but it looks great to me. Anyway, I do have a question here and may seek some of your advices: I have been offered a Canon T90 with three orignal Canon lenses. The guy that tried to pursuade me to take it said the lenses can also be used on Canon autofocus bodies (my girl friend has a EOS-10 and the few zoom lenses looked tempting enough... ) via a convertor. But a friend who uses Canon stuffs told he has never heard that before and I am not so sure who to believe now. Can anyone throw a shade of light on this topic ? Thanks.10. I am terribly sorry. This is my first experience dealing with codes - I think I have screwed up "something at somewhere" while applying something very new... but my staffs are all busy working on few important projects. I applied as I learnt along the way to deal with coding for the last one week - and we are almost ready to migrate the web server to another location. The older MSQL was created a few years ago and we made a mistake from day one (by separating the database from our web server and worst still, sharing with the mail server...). IF I have a choice, I would wait till my staffs to come up with a solution to convert the older database automatically, but I can't and after I screwed things up - I did that MANUALLY !! @&$)($)"!! . Well, good news out of the bad is - the new leased line at the location is faster. Next, my boys have managed to retrieved the older messages for me today (so, I see if I can pickup something from the programmers later and fixed the dates back..). Thousand apologizes.... At least this episode taught me a lesson - I just can't be a programmer, Just can't ! In relation to the "Red Alert" remarks: I had some problems with some hostile visitors at other Boards... this place is not as peaceful as you thought and I don't want to waste time answering and entertaining requests for removals of messages on the Board etc...
