The Canon T-90 System |

Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

My T90 has an intermitent problem whereby I get the EEE and Help message. The camera makes a noise as if it is working but on investigation the shutter does not open and I have to take out aand put back the battery to get it back again. Usually after about 10-20 wsted shots in a row it comes back to life for a while. Can anyone tell me what is wrong, can it be fixed and how much. Thanks2. Possibly the Last NEW Canon T90 in existence! Set includes lens FD28 mm f/2.8 and Lens FD 50 mm f/1.8 This set includes camera Canon T90, two lenses Canon lenses FD 50/1.8 and FD 28/2.8, auto electric flash unit Sunpak auto 422D. Original manuals and instructions are included. Every thing is brand new, never been used. The Canon T90 was years ahead of anything else on the market at that time. It is, quite simply, one of the best manual focus 35mm SLR designs of all time. Many features of the T90 were later incorporated into the EOS link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2950229335&ssPageName=ADME:B:LC:US:13. From : Ken D (kdurling@earthlink.net)

I also had a flashing arrow recently. Battery check showed two bars, so I replaced batteries, and flashing has stopped. Ken4. From : TTaylor (taylort111kph@yahoo.com)

Dick I have had a couple of T90's with your problem, the flashing arrow....This is usually a sticking mirror magnet, MG2. I had them both repaired for $90 each, this included the repair and a CLA and warranty for 6 months. Evidently if you do not use your camera for several months this could happen. Contact me offline and I can send you info on the repair shops I have used. Terry5. From : Chuba (carnadero@yahoo.com)

Use the battery check button under the palm wing. If there isn't at least three dashes visible, then the battery is hosed.

Does anyone have an idea where to find a technical description of D.M.B. ?? Or mayby someone tried to make an interface connecting T90 and PC ?? Regards, Tom7. From : TomR (tomrdale@aol.com)

Dick, The arrow should only blink when you have the T-90 set to high speed advance and the battery is low. Notwithstanding that, If the arrow is blinking, change the batteries. Its cheap; its easy; and it worked for me. I can't recall whether I was in low speed continuous or single frame advance mode when I ran into the problem, but as I said, changing the batteries worked for me. Let us know what happens. TomR.8. When I try to take an exposure with one of my T-90s the shutter depresses, the the arrow next to to "single" blinks on and off and the shutter fails to work. The camera hadn't been used for some months. Any idea what may be causing the problem? What has to be done to correct it? Many thanks.9. From : JohnS (jjs345@aol.com)

From : Rick Strome : Does anyone know if there is a simple quick fix to this .. Rick, for the T90, just remove the front panel (3 screws) and loosen the side with the back release on it (2 screws). Work out the front panel, and try tightening the lens mount flange (4 corner screws). You could also add a slight amount of REMOVABLE Lock-Tite to the screws for the flange if you wish. Can't help ya with the T70, but once the body is opened, the procedure would be the same. No need to send the cameras off to a repair shop for this - it really is a simple procedure, but if you are planning on having the cameras go in for a CLA, just mention the problem to them, and they can take care of it during the CLA. Hope this helps... JohnS10. I have both a T90 and T70 with slightly loose chrome lens mounting flanges. Does anyone know if there is a simple quick fix to this (such as placement of a small but precise amount of epoxy or superglue to the area under or next to the flange/body) or do you have to send it to the repair shop? Since both of these cameras have this problem, is this a common problem? Thanks, Rick
