The Canon T-90 System |

Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

Hi everyone. I was digging around in the loft the other day and buried undr a load of unwanted clothes etc I came acros my 'old' T90. It hasn't been used in about 6 years. I dusted it of, cleaned it up, popped in some batteries and....Bingo! It works fine. Perfect timing now Spring has sprung. I'd forgotten how nice the camera feels to hold. I am used to digital ones now, flimsy etc. The old T90 feels 'stable'. Hooray for Canon, and hooray for The T90. I thnk this will be the start of a renewed love affair : )2. Does anyone know if there are any sync cords available on the market today that will allow off-camera operation of the 300TL from the T90? I know that there are sync cords made for EOS which appear to have the same contact pattern, but I would rather hear from someone who has had success before I fork out $50 for a cord that might not work for me. Any help would be appreciated! If you could, email any responses to me at griswell@bellsouth.net, as I have trouble getting this page to load at times. Thanks so much! Daniel3. From : Luigi D. Giordano: Dio Mio! Most of us no reado the Italiano! But if you are asking about the dreaded HELP error message and whether it is repairable, search through these archives. We have mucho experianza with this problemo. Two repair facilities surface repeatedly:
Morgantown Camera Repair in West Virginia, USA http://www.mcvr.com/ and John Lowe in in the UK. I found the following by searching with Google:
I would like to bring to everybody`s attention of the services of John Lowe in the U.K. He has just CLA`d (cleaned, lubricated and adjusted) my beloved T90 and did an excellent job, and his fee was very reasonable. He can be reached at jillyandjohn@lineone.net I think he does international as well but it would be best to check with him first. For the record, apart from job he carried out, I have no other contact with him.6. Hi, I was hoping some of you could help me with a question I have about the T90.
I picked up this camera used this past weekend, and have been pouring over the manual ever since. One thing has got me stumped though . . .
When discussing all of the available program modes, the manual only briefly touches on the TELE mode. As I understand it, this is a full program mode that puts greater emphasis on shutter priority, which is exactly what I want - something that will automatically set both aperture and shutter while in spot metering mode, while giving greater priority to the faster available shutter speed. Now, my question is this . . .
What is the difference between TELE 1, TELE 2 AND TELE 3. I have played around with it and taken different reading in all three modes to see if how the camera reacts to each mode, and I'm hard pressed to see a difference. In TELE 1, I do get a lower shutter speed than I do in TELE 2 OR TELE 3, almost always at 1/125 as a matter of fact, but in TELE 2 AND TELE 3 I get the same exact readings. Am I missing something/
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

1cny,
Tele P-3 will give you the fastest shutter speeds and widest apertures.
Tele P-1 will provide slower shutter speeds and smaller apertures.
Tele P-2 is in between.
You are leaving the decision making to the camera but narrowing down the choices it can make. Frankly, I prefer not to use either the tele or the wide program modes. I know what I want better than the camera does. See page 26 of your manual an the "Setting the Shooting Mode" section commencing on page 22.10.
