The Canon T-90 System |
|
Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

I wish to purchase a T90 camera and would like to hear as to where I can purchase one. I live in Scotland and would preferably like to purchase one in the UK but I am open to suggestions.2. From : Mark B. (bowdenm@lycos.com)

Now that someone has mentioned diopter lens I would like to ask a question. I am very nearsighted and wonder how you can tell what lens you are supposed to use??3. From : BobP (r.popek@home.com)

I am looking for an eyepiece diopter lens (+1) for the t90 - thought that this would be a great forum to locate parts such as this. If anyone has one that they would like to part with, or if they can identify where I can buy this part, it will be much appreciated. Thanks,

I still enjoy using my T-90 which I bought just as it came out in 1986. Have the original boxes and manual, and the optional books. What I don't have which I would like is a data back. If anyone can has one for sale or can point me in the right direction, I would be appreciative.5. From : Gene Austin, (Photobulldog) (Photobulldog@yahoo.com)

To All my friends on the T-90 message board, avery special THANK-YOU,and an extra special THANK-YOU,THANK-YOU,THANK-YOU !!!
to Daniel Griswell. I was having a problem with a wiggiling, wobbling, loose mount on my T-90 and searched the message board archives and found his posting from Friday 28 September,2001. Even I was able to get my hands to work and actually hold a screwdriver and make the repair as he suggested.. I found I had to use a "00" phillips jewelers screwdriver rather than the "0" size he suggested, but IT REALLY WORKED just as he said.. I feel like I just "beat the system" and didn't have to take the old T-90 in for a repair.. So, thanks again...GENE AUSTIN, PHOTOBULLDOG6. From : Mickey Oberman (mickeyobe@internet.look.ca)

I am very glad to have found info for the T90 on the web. I own and still use Canon F1's everyday as a professional but like my T90 the most. We here is South Africa are however finding it more & more difficult to get parts and service. If anyone outthere can supply me with info as to where I can obtain T90 spare parts/accessories I would be very gratefull.8. From : Mark (bowdenm@lycos.com)

Thanks Irwin. Will check out the 540ez. It would be nice to have a handle flash which I think would help to avoid red eye. I might get a chance to do a wedding which would call for alot of candle power. Take care. Mark

Mark, there are flashes and there are flashes. Nowadays, if you want more power you can easily get it from the Canon Speedlites which are well built and they keep parts too.... They got the model 540EZ, big boy, which keeps the important functions and adds candlepower. TTL flash is the important function no matter what anyone tells you... And maybe off shoe cords is nice to have as accessories too I think without hunting all over? And the Metz (sold by Bogen here in the US of A) bigger flashes have modules that keep the important functions. I trust them guys. The Germans make good stuff, and great strudel. You can get the specifics on the websites I am sure of it. Both very reliable companies. Sunpak, so, so, according to the grapevine at myneighborhood bagel factory...Used 540EZ is a good purchase too I think, but fixing one is costly so think new purchase, its electronics remember.. If you want bigger, Canon makes a handle flash with TTL that will work. Hope that illuminates your question. And last, if you really want to part with more money, you can, hang on to your fedora, a professional but wonderful Quantum Q flash (a real lasersaber that one not cheap either) which has a T90 module..
