The Canon T-90 System |
|
Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

George Rogers,
This is just grasping at straws but might work.
Set camera on Program if you can.
Push in the depth of field button.
Now push it in again to let the aperture reopen.
Try the shutter release again.
It works with my ancient T90 when it occasionally gets balky.
Good luck,
Mickey

Help!! I have a T90 that I bought secondhand which looks like it has never been used at all. When you press the shutter button, you don't get the EEE or HELP message but all the camera does is tick quietly. The only other thing that happens after you press the shutter button is the pointer in LCD display against the firing speed flashes on and off instead of continuously unless you switch the camera off and on again. I recently bough another T90 from Ebay and when it arrived, it was exactly the same. I emailed the seller who promptly refunded my money and paid for the postage back (nice bloke) and when he got it back asked me what was wrong with it as it was working perfectly! I was very embarrassed by this but could only tell him what had happened. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, George. PS, I have 4 T90's and they all work perfectly regardless of how infrequently I use them so I don't know if this is a lack of use fault or what!3. From : Mickey Oberman (mickeyobe@rogers.com)

Hello and a big thanks for reply to my T90 battery pack question.
Have left camera sitting in warm zone since purchase and have just now seen corrosive seepage around the base rubber pad.
It is indeed why I cannot open compartment so thanks for advice on vinegar method. I will try that. Fortunately bought another non working T90 for parts and the battery pack and release are perfect. Hope to be shooting some pics in near future.
Again, thanks for support

Sam,
My T90 will shoot at whatever shutter speed I set whether the back is open or closed.
Don't be deceived by the sound of the shutter. It may remain the same. Check the spacing of the gap between the shutter curtains.

Hi. With the back open, does the T-90 default to any specific shutter speed or can I release the shutter at any speed by setting it in Manual mode?
I think T-50 defaults to 1/60 shutter speed if the back is open.

No idea, Bruce Julian, but sounds as if it is stuck somehow. Try twisting, there is no other way that I know of. Good luck.
