The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

I have a t90 and a 300tl which used to work perfectly well together. Now the camera doesn't indicate in the viewfinder that the flash is charged although the pilot lamp on the flash itself is on. For getting started, I only want to use the camera in PROGRAM mode. Any idea? Thanks a lot

Does the T90 have TTL flash capability with any flash gear other than the 300TL flash unit? I would like to have a TTL unit for my T90, but the 300TL is hard to find.

Does anybody know if I can use the flash exposure compensation of EOS 5 body with a 300TL flash head? I ve read that the only available functions of 300Tl with an EOS body are ttl auto and full manual... Does this mean that I have to set the Flash in Program mode but use only Progarm AE instead of Tv Av or Manual on the body... Thanks in advance and sorry for the nearly irrelevant with the group question!!

I have seen this T90 question asked in the archives but couldn't locate an answer. I hadn't used the camera for a few years. When I press the shutter release button, the curser next to the word "SINGLE" on the LCD display panel blinks but the shutter doesn't release. I've tried replacing the AA batteries, as well as checking all the other modes and can't remedy the problem. Any ideas would be appreciated. dan

WTB T-90 diopter lens - Looking for a +2 lens, and understand that this is fits over the existing eyepiece (not a lens replacement). Please let me know if you know where I might find these - as yo probably know, Canon is not much help (nor do they care to be for older cameras). Thanks, Bob

Ross I rang David Leung (I also live in UK) ; he quoted me £47 ($75) for T90 eyecup; this is just outrageous and I thionk people should have nothing to do with this dealer. While it does flip the eyepiece shutter when attaching, the Eos 1 eyecup works fine and costs less than a fiver.

NO bulk film back was ever made for the T-90 or any Canon other then the F-1's first second or third versions. At least not with the FD lens mount. There are NPC polaroid backs available for the T-90 but that's it. Well except for the Command back, Data Back (the one that works with some computer no one can find with a patch cord that no one has ever seen)Sorry not good news, Mark W.
