The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

This site is specifically created for this great SLR cameras by Canon. Please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you in advance. If your intention is to dispose your Canon cameras or its accompanying accessories or looking for a used model or any of its system components, please use a separate section with a higher volume of traffic Free Trade Zone site instead. The Photography In Malaysia has no Guestbook on its own, because it is an integral part of the MIR site. The respective Message Boards are some of the HARDEST hit section of the PIM site, if at any one time, the traffic is high - the table/content may take a while to load the data, just be patience. If it stalls, just click on the 'Reload' or 'Refresh' button on your browser menu once to re-attempt. Thank you.

Thank you for putting so much effort in creating this old camera site. I thought many of us won't have the time for this. I have so problem with this old antique T90 where my husband left for me. Great pictures took for family outings and travel with my kids. I have found the problem with the search in this forum. This is a very good and useful website for people like me. THANK YOU !

love from the Prairie.

I have two T-90's for sale - one is in perfect shape and the second works fine in manual mode but get the EEE thing when used in automatic (had the shutter replaced and still has the same problem - not sure why) I also have a TTL300 flash and several different filters & lenses.. I LOVE my T-90's but unfortunatley can't seem to handle the manual focus anymore (moved up to EOS 3's) Would like to sell it as a package, but would split it up if necessary. I'm near Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. email me if you have any interest :) This board has ALWAYS been a great place to chat T-90's and will always be on 'my favourites'

The T90 can be modified to add a x-sync socket, but the easiest way is to buy an adapter to mount in the flash shoe. Just be careful to buy one with a small contact, it must not touch the four small contacts (some older adapters could touch them), or the camera could be damaged. - Luigi D. Sandon

Re:From : Bill Rose

Yes Bill this is normal. It uses next to no power so I wouldn't worry. If you don't have a manual you can download one or contact me as I have a spare. Mike

Does anyone know & is willing to share the root cause of the EEE error problem. I have several good detailed breakdown procedures & have purchased some camera specific tools for the job.I purposely bought an EEE troubled camera just to gain the experience of the operation but would like to know what the root cause is if possible. I've read it's carbon buildup on the magnets. If I give the unit several solid raps flush on a table I can fire it without fail for 5 full minutes. Only when I slow down the fps to 2 or shoot at the single rate that I experience the problem again. I have also noticed that the motor changes pitch when I reduce the frame rate from the 4.5 to 2 rate. It seems to occur after the pitch change. Comments are welcome. Mike

I want to purchase a monolite and use it for portraits but the T90 doesn't have a x sockit to connect the monolite. Can someone explain how I can set this up to work? Do I need to purchase a remote system?

I am new to the T-90 camera having just purchased one in excellent condition. I have followed the instructions of loading batteries, film and other first startup action.
I noticed that even with the switch in the off position the display screen still shows film is loaded and a recetangle box with the number 1 inside. Is this normal display in off position? It just may be me but I expected the screen to be off with nothing displayed except when switch is on.

I have a treasure trove of Canon T90 and FD related stuff that I'm going to sell. It includes a T90 w/ 50mm f:1.4 and command back + normal back, 2 300TL's, ring light, ML-3, angle finder B, focusing screen D, off-camera cord, multiple flash cords and adapters, 35mm Tilt-Shift, half a dozen aftermarket lenses from ultra wide to mirror tele to macro, teleconverters, and the Hove book and T90 Performance Book. I conservatively estimate the value of the separate pieces at over $1,300. I'm offering it here for $1,000 + actual shipping and insurance if you take it all at once. If you are non-US, the hassles of customs are all yours. I will ship, but only with an honest declaration of value. Below is a detailed list of what's included. Please don't ask about specific items. If I'm going to split, I'll do it on E-bay.
