The Canon T-90 System |
|
Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

Energizer is told to be good among the NiMH batteries.
I only know the factory data for fully charged NiCd. That is 6 sec. recycle in M Hi mode.
This is how Canon measures it:
"Interval between firing of the flash and relighting of pilot lamp with fully charged Ni-Cd batteries."

Luigi & Mickey: Thanks for the advice and encouragement. I've tried the various home remedies and they don't work. Main thing is the shutter doesn't seem to open, just a lot of whirring and film advance noises.
I'm just wondering if it's worth all the cost and effort to ship the camera overseas and have to contend with a possibly cannibalised part from some deceased T90. Now that I've gone into digital (**Horrors!!**), my dear T90 is sitting in the drycab waiting for the day of revival (sort of like cryogenics, or someone preserving their brain in the hope future medical science can rebuild the body...)
Sad, but (photographic) life goes on...

I am hoping someone can help me. After some time of not using my T90, I recently took it out. I put in fresh batteries and film. The film loads normally, but will not advance at any setting (single or either continuous)The indicator arrow simply flashes. It does the same thing with no film loaded.Any help would be greatly appreciated Mike4. From : Luigi D. Sandon (cp@sandon.it)

bronstejn: never really tested. Usually I use it for fill-in, a test would be valid firing it in manual mode to ensure the same power is used each time. IIRC in a previous thread was said the NiCd may have a small advantage in recharge rate, but the latest NiMH barreries should be on par. I am using Energizer NH-15 2100 mAh, I bought them a couple of years ago. I will perform some test, do you have some issues?5. From : bronstejn (br@nstejn)

Rack, Sorry I made you cry. If the home remedies don't work I still suggest a good, reliable service person whom you will find by browsing these pages. I cannot reccomend Canon. From my experience, here in Toronto, they are worse than useless. The T90 is well worth professional attention. Now dry those tears and wipe your nose and start browsing. Mickey8. Rack: look for EEEE in the past posts. Some "do-it-yourself" remedies exist, depending on the actual case. And there are still some Canon service centre that will work on T90. Mine in Italy does. Otherwise there are some people around the world that are able to repair them, i.e. John Lowe (john.lowe40@ntlworld.com) in England.10.
