The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

The respective Message Boards are some of the HARDEST hit section of the PIM site, if at any one time, the traffic is high - the table/content may take a while to load the data, just be patience. If it stalls, just click on the 'Reload' or 'Refresh' button on your browser menu once to re-attempt. Thank you.

Unfortunately I gave up with my T90 as it has I assume a problem with the shutter as many of you have encountered on this message board. It may take a whole roll without missing one especially when you use it oftenly, but sometimes it just won't work correctly. I have the Data Memory Back which I bought NEW some 5 to 6 years ago which is in perfect working order and only has a minor paint scratch (hairline). Is anyone interested in buying it? I've switched to an EOS30 so will not fix the T90 :(

Gordon.

I tried a Zing eveready case once. Didn't like it for the T90.Weird design. Funny way the thing folds on itself like a moebius strip. I never could get used to the Houdini way of getting it unwrapped, sir. Now I don't use an eveready case. I have a bag for protecting my camera. But Zing neoprene products are nice for lots of stuffs. I keep my 300TL in a Zing pouch. (Zing is the pouch king. But they have no pouch really big enough for me. So, you can try SLR case, but get the biggest one they make, and even then, the lens may fit kind of tight, like a wet suit I think. See, that's the zinger in zing, how do you estimate the lens size..life is bleeding complicated. E.B.Black. African Queen Timeshares Ltd.,Hobart,Tasmania

hi . great rescources page. i have a t90 but am practically bursting to get a decent digital model.(currently using my little canon s10 to make stop motion shorts}.THOUGH IT MAY BE HERESY to mention the other company on this page , i'd still like to hear some comparisonsand opinions between the nikon d100 and the canon d60 . these are my two chief prospects since, well the eos d1 is just way out of range of my budget....sigh....

I recently saw on a website details about how to find out the month and year of manufacture of your T90. It was to do with the letters and numbers inside the film chamber.....I think! I now cannot find this website anywhere!! Can anyone tell me the details regarding the dating procedure?

John, thanks for your offer to provide help.

My Canon T90 gives an EEE error whenever I take a picture and won't do anything after that. If I push the battery check button or pull and replace the battery rack, the error goes away and the normal display returns. Thinking that maybe the battery power isn't allowing it to complete the shutter open/closing and winding the film, no mechanical movement is heard after resetting the EEE error. The AA batteries all measure over 1.50 volts. I've had the camera for over 12 years and I bought it new.
I've read on the net something about it could be weak shutter magnets.
Also, would it be beyond a highly mechanically inclined person's ability to replace the lithium in there?
Is there maybe a shop manual displayed somewhere on the net?

really appreciate whatever help you can provide,
Keith Shelley
