The Canon T-90 System |
|
Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

Sharon Harvey - If Jessops don't have what you want, then good mail order options are MXV (mxvphotographic.com) or Ffordes (ffordes.com). I've used both, they're very helpful and acurate with their condition ratings. Good hunting - Mark.2. From : Mark (md644@hotmail.com)

Hi there,
I have a T90+300TL which is driving me crazy
- or maybe it is just me being stupid :-)
Scenario 1:
The 300TL is set to Mode Set - A-TTL
T90 is set to P
Viewfinder: 60 and 22
Scenario 2:
The 300TL is set to Mode Set - A-TTL
T90 is set to Tv 60
Viewfinder: 60 and a blinking 2.0
In the latter case, why is the viewfinder saying that the exposure will be incorrect? It looks like the camera believe I want to shoot without the flash.

Dear Fellow photographers,
I am dying to find another Canon T90. I have used two for years never disappointed me. Only natural-cause stop me loving my Canon T90. As a photographer who has a little time recording a "fast-moving" Indonesia, I need a trusted camera. There I only have one name: T90.
Is any one would sell it? Help me....

I have a similar problem to Al Spohn. The shutter seems to have frozen, but it could be something farther up I suppose. When I press the shutter button the LED readout in the viewfinder goes blank and I hear a "ticking" sound inside. The arrow pointing to "Single" on the top screen begins flashing and won't stop until I turn the camera off. Seems like I'm gonna have to take it in, but any advice would be appreciated. Almost seems like something is just jamming the shutter, if only I could just shake it loose.....

RAB, this is normal viewfinder stuff when using Av and Tv with the 300TL. It is easiest to refer to the "300TL Reference Guide" to explain the fill flash concept in detail if you are unfamiliar with this dance that the T90 and the 300TL do together.Counterintuitive, maybe, not really tho... Christopher Rollinger has a copy available on line. Plug in his name in your browser with Canon FD tag and you are there. Any more confusion, ask here, but its really okey dokey. Just take pictures. And when its dark,go to program mode so you wont get a slow shutter you can't handhold. EBBlack7. From : Mickey Oberman (mickeyobe@internet.look.ca)

Nate Ross, I really don't know for sure what the problem is but here is a suggestion for what it's worth. Carefully and thoroughly clean all electric terminals and contact points including those on the battery holder and within the battery compartment and the batteries themselves..8. HI!
I just acquired a Canon t90, and though I am pretty familiar with slr's, I am stuck on one thing. After I turn the power on with freshbatteries, it flashes BC at me, with no bars.. if I hit the battery check button, it just flashes bc some more..
I got it to turn on once, and then it turned off again...
Any ideas? (I was planning to take it with me as a backup for a wedding this weekend, but I dont dare to now..)
Thanks in advance!!9. From : ARB (arbrpl@teleline.es)

Hi all,
I have a question I own a second hand T90 with a dedicated flash 300TL , I bought them after 10 years of A-1 use and I love my T90. I have a question/problem when 300TL is used as A-TTL ( or even in FEL mode ) and other than program in T90 ( i.e. Tv or Av ) the camera seems working as if the flash was not connected, the metering is the same with or without flash even when the green ray is diplayed in the screen. Is the flash not working in AE modes?? is a problem in the body itself??
Thanks in advance

Sharon, a good place to start looking for canon fd lenses, is Jessops hotline, they have a data base of all the second hand lenses available in their uk stores, and can have lenses sent to your nearest store, or they will send them mail order. I recently bought a long sought after 50mm f1.2 this way, and it was as described. Best of luck.
