The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

In Spring a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of "buying a second T90" I found one going for about a hundred and fifty less than this time last year. Congrtulate me, dear friends. How about others experience on the market price? has it really gone south lately? I should find smoked salmon at such a steal! I now add my bit on the accessory market . You know that the angle finder B still works with the T90. All of the Speedlites work with the T90. Same for MacroLite flash. Same for the Auto Bellows and the Slide copier. Probably, with an adapter, the latest EOS infrared triggers. Lots of stuff, in other words. As for eyecups, this is probably not the big deal its made out to be. The EOS IN eyecup, still in production, can be squeezed onto the grooves of the T90 with only a little scrunching on the lever. Not a big deal like I said. And the biggest accessory of all-no joke- is the AA cells that power the T90. ?Dont you love the power supply they put in the T90,no kidding, every snotnosed boobele clerk has them. I can buy them by the ton nowl and forever at Walmart. And film, it takes 35 mm. You get the idea. Be well, take your gingko beluba, eat prunes, keep going to AA meetings and enjoy Springtime. Syd, as to EOS accessories - doubt anyone has a list (other than EOS lenses - NOT! -as prev. pointed out). However the cable remote switch 60T3 for the EOS series certainly does - as I found out when my old screw cable release used on A1 was incompatible with the T90. Prob. only things like the eye cups, prev. commented on whenever someone dreams about getting a genuine T90 one, and prob. the right angle finder - in other words things that are not related to the completely different lens contacts of the EOS series.

Anyone know where to buy a Canon Speedlight 300TL in exec condition? Also looking for Command back 90, Focus screen "L", and an eyecup.

Does anyone have a list of current EOS items that can be used on the T90?

Sorry, I thought it was Sunpak 522. The G/N for the 622 is supposedly 270!. Still, unless you are spotlighting flies butts at 100 yards, the 300TL is truely amazing on the T90.

Sell the F-1 and Sunpack and buy a 300TL. The Sunpak G/N is 120 compared to 116 for the 300TL. The added capability of the 300TL on the T90 is far more important that 4 feet.

I reciently bought a T90 and still have my Sunpak 622 Pro flash system with the CA-2D interface module. I use this with my F1-N and A1. I was wondering if the 300TL flash would be a better option for this camera or just stick to the Sunpak and use for all?

I recently purchased a Sunpak 522 handle mount flash for a pawn shop. After mounting my T90 on the bracket and connecting all the wires, I discovered something---I'm an idiot! I've been using a 300TL with my T90 for so long that I've become spoiled by it's dedicated features. Now that I've attached the Sunpak, my beloved T90 acts as though there is no flash attached. Is this a simple case of choosing the wrong flash, or is this a reality check for me that when you take of your training wheels (300TL) you have to learn how to ride the bike.

Brad, All T90 focusing screens incorporate a fresnel lens. This is a series of extremely finely engraved concentric circles that help even out the illumination of the screen from edge to edge. This may be what you are seeing. The circles go entirely around the screen with a common centre at the middle of the screen. I do not know why you see them only on one side of the screen. Indeed you must have very acute eyesight to see them at all.
