The Canon T-90 System

Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Canon T-90 - Message Board/Guestbook

The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

Re Green T90 Thanks for the comments. To clarify the back and front casings (but not the top and bottom) are finished in a not particularly military medium green. The purchase was made in the UK so it probably isn't US military issue. The panels are not painted or anything like that - they appear to be genuine parts??? Regards Phil

Marc, Your 299T works fine on your T-90. Not as many options (TTL!) as the dedicated 300TL but it works. In the manual of the 299T a few chapters describe operation of this unit with the T-90. If you do not have the manual I can get you a digital copy if you want. Norbert

New batteries haven't cured my shutter problem. It doesn't work--just results in blinking indicator when I depress the shutter. I would appreciate some recommedations for a reliable and reasonable repair shop. Many thanks.

Phil - That's interesting. I've seen F-1s like that - a supposed "military" model. Never seen a T-90 like that though. I'm not sure if these are bonafide or not - certainly all the US Navy engraved FD gear is for real, it was used for photo recce. But the camo bodies seem more like a marketing thing. I could be wrong. Ken

Jocelyn - Also try email address: Steven40@aol.com He's in Reno NV. Your shutter probably is good; just sticking shutter magnets due to lack of use. Cleaning the shutter and a general CLA (clean, lube, adjust) will be considerably less costly than a shutter replacement.
