The Canon T-90 System |

Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

Hello Francesco. I haven't received the T90 camera I've ordered yet, but the "EEEE" message you're getting is similar to the one I would get on my A1 when there was insufficient light to take a photo. That is, it was too dark, and I didn't have a flash hooked up, or the lens/shutter settings I had chosen were wrong for the speed of the film in the camera. The camera knew the photo wouldn't come out right, and was just giving a warning. Just change the camera settings and it should be okay.3. From : Larry (jjettllagg@hotmail.com)

Hi all. I'm new to this list. I'm a former A1 owner - it died when I fell and slammed it on a rock - unfixable. Now I just bought a T90 on Ebay and can't wait to receive it - should arrive this week. Have two Vivitar Series 1 zoom/macro lenses that I could hardly give away, as far as camera stores were concerned, but now I'll still be able to use them. I've had good results with them on my A1, and got all kinds of filters to go with them. Can't wait to start taking photos again. Thanks for listening.4. Dear Sir or Madam, this is my first visit to this message board. I own a Canon T90, which I recently bought, I'm slowly trying to learn all its features. My question is this, I've got my camera set for Aperture priority, with the lens setting on 'A'. Bear in mind I'm a beginner! However, after taking some shots, the viewfinder shows me the word 'HELP' and the Lcd screen shows 'EEEE' Is my camera OK? I can get the camera to continue, by opening the battery compartment and sliding them out then back in. Do other T90 owners experience this problem?5. From : Mark W. (awahlster@aol.com)

Barry another great wide zoom to look for that is very under priced on ebay and in the shops is the Soligar 24-45mm f3.5/4.5 CD I have one of these as a travel lens and I'm constantly amazed at some of the results I get. You should be able to find a nice clean used one for under $100.00. It has to be used as it's been quite a while since Soligar has been making any Canon Fd lenses.6. Barry, Sigma offered a 21-35 that might be worth looking into on the used market, never seen one or heard any reviews. Also Phoenix and Vivitar each offer new a 19-35 3.5-4.5 for under $150 USD. Again I've no idea on the performance. Anyone??9. From : Ken D (kdurling@earthlink.net)

Barry - There is a Canon FD 20-35mm f/3.5L, but being an L lens it commands high prices, in the neighborhood of $650 USD and more. I hear it's amazing. There are also two 24-35mm FD lenses, one is an L lens and one is an aspherical. These average more in the $4-500 range. I'm happy with my 24/35/50 . . etc. set-up, and almost never use my 28mm anymore. The 24/2.8 is an excellent lens.10. Guys, Thanks for the great and almost instant response to my 100mm Macro questions. I shall certainly be on the lookout for one very soon. I have another question that you may have the time to help me with. I tried a 17mm/f4 Canon lens that about 6 months ago that seemed way to 'wacky' to warrant £400, although now I am more articulate with photgraphy I feel a lense of this calibre to be quite exciting. However, these lenses are expensive, and buying a 20mm and 24mm to bridge the gaps to my widest lense (a 28mmf2.8) is a little extreme. I am gutted to see that with a newer EOS, I could own such joys as a Sigma 17-35mm zoom for about £300 which is more than ideal for my limited budget (I have a musical obsession as well but we wont go into that!). The Sigma range looks excellent and I have read some excellent reviews lately. So....my question is
Q. Are there any manufacturers of lenses that could offer me a similar super wide zoom in FD fit or will I have to go down the route of a different camera? If there are then would I need an adapter? I adore my T90. I bought one because 15years ago when I was 16 I lusted after this 'stealth' camera! I knew it was originally a pro camera and they are so cheap nowadays I knew I couldn't go wrong. I own a 28mm f2.8, a 50mm f1.4 and a 135mm f3.5.
and have spent the last 6 months experimenting with film types and the 50mm rather than wasting lost of money on a hobby I may not have liked. I use Fuji Velvia as I have had it with awful prints. Slide made me realise that I was actually a good photographer and that the majority of disheartening shots back from the lab were not my fault at all! Anyway enough from me, I would be interested to read any responses to my query. Thanks 8bit Barry
