The Canon T-90 System |
|
Modern
Classic SLRs Series : |
The Canon T-90 was the last model that uses FD-mount prior to the shift to the autofocus EF EOS system. It hardly lasted a year since its inception but what an impact it has created on the design of future SLR. Every inch a classic, despite after more than 15 years, this camera is still hard to replicate even by today's standard. It was also widely acclaimed as one of the true Classic camera of modern times. Here comes a common Message Board designed specifically for Canon T90 SLR model - this is especially useful when you realize ALL Canon FD mount SLRs have long been discontinued you may require a public forum for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experience among many of you. This Site has proved to be quite popular and I am quite happy to see these effort was not wasted and special thanks to ALL the volunteered Site Maintainers of this Message Board. Enjoy.

I used T90's professionally for years - even while I had an EOS system. I still use them on occasion for "hazardous duty". One of the four bodies I have is not firing correctly. At first it was completely stuck, but after giving it a good bang on the carpet (as suggested on this board) it will act like it is firing with the motor advancing film, but the shutter will not open. After this it will read EEE until i pull the batteries. Is this a cleaning issue? or s new shutter? I will happily clean it, but will probably junk it if it needs a shutter. Thanks2. Tom there is a web site that tells how to modify the interface to be able to talk to some type of Palm. BUT you have to have the interface to hack up. Since working MSX computers go unsold on ebay for less then $20.00 I wouldn't bother to try to build a new interface. That said you can always do what I plan to do. Since the memory will store 156 frames of complete info and in reduced mode it will store 338 frames. That's 9 rolls of 36exp. I figure I can just shoot away and when I get home sit down and in a few minutes transcrip the info to a spreed sheet right into my Gateway. Or I guess a guy could do it into a Plam they are getting awful cheap. Mine should be here end of the week so I guess I find out!3. From : Nigel Craig (nigel_carig@btinternet.com)

I am trying to track down John Lowe, who repairs T90s in the UK. I cannot get a reply to my posts so maybe I have an old e-mail address. Does anyone have up to date contact details or know whether he is still in the business.4. From : TomR (trigilano@netscape.com)

Mark, Good deal. The good deals are out there, as you wrote, as long as you don't need the item NOW. I've thought about getting a Data Back for one of the T-90s, but keep deciding that without the ability to download the stored information, the $$$ are better off spent elsewhere. Do you know of a resource explaining how to link the Data Back to a standard computer to download the stored info. TomR.5. From : TomR (trigilano@netscape.com)

I need some help. I can't open the Macrolite ML-3 instructions from Mr. Rollinger's web site. If I download and try to open it off-line I also get a fail. Would somebody please try to access the ML-3 instructions and let me know if you encountered any problems. The link to the ML-3 instructions are near the bottom right of the page at: http://www.canonfd.com/choose.htm I've been in touch with Mr. Rollinger and he reports that everything is fine on his end. I'm now trying to figure out if I have a problem on my end or if there's a problem generally in accessing the link from an outside server. Thanks for the help people. TomR.6. Ken I just picked up a T90 w/Data Memory Back 90 w/box both IB's a 244T flash and 50mm f1.8 The camera had just been fully serviced for 150.00 pounds sterling!!! off ebay waiting for it to arrive. That's $314.00USD with airmail shipping and insurance. The good deals can be found. Last Data Memory Back I saw sell alone was over $250.00. I'll see if the new T90 is nicer then one of the two I have in my Kit and sell the extra as I only need two, after selling the T90 IB the 244T flash and the 50mm f1.8 (I currently have way to many of these LOL)I should end up with after ebay fees getting the Data Memory Back for under $25.00 bucks. Trent - The 277 question has been discussed here recently, try searching the archives. $499 for a T-90/300TL combo is just average IMO. Not bad, but not a super deal. I paid $275 one of my T-90s and $105 for my 300TL. That's not as low as I've seen them, but close. Ken8. From : Trent (trenthay@dodo.com.au)

I was wondering what the ramifications of using the Speedlite277T with T-90 are. Is this possible and if so what are the results like?10. Re: Horizon Electronics - I have mentioned them here a number of times, although not in connection with said lug. They're good guys, and if they can help you at all they will. They are indeed in the SF Bay Area, albeit in the east bay, in Union City, which is near Fremont, halfway between Oakland and San Jose. Here is their contact info: 3961 Horner Street, Union City CA, 94587. Ph:510-489-9091. They're an authorized Canon Service Center. Ken
